What is Roblox?

Contrary to its appearance, Roblox is not a children’s game. In fact, it’s nowhere near being a game at all.  Much like the PC platform Steam, we can look at Roblox as an online storefront and gaming platform where users come together to connect and play.  However, there are other things users can do on Roblox that help sets the program apart from everyone else.  With Roblox, users can create their own characters and games. These games can then be shared with millions of users worldwide.  This provides users with much more variety and choices. Plus, it encourages creativity in younger audiences.  Roblox has released over 20 million games since its inception. And that population only continues to grow every day.

1. Remove Suspicious Scripts

Roblox gives its users complete freedom in terms of writing and designing their games. However, they do employ a few rules and regulations to keep everyone in line.  Still, some users use illegal scripts and admin commands in their programs. These users do them to a) cheat their way out of certain games or b) to add an element of “surprise” or “novelty” to their game designs.  Using illegal scripts is one of the top reasons users encounter Error Code:267 in Roblox. If you’re in the same boat, removing this piece of script from your program can help you get unblocked much earlier.  All this can be done through the Roblox studio.

2. Use Google Chrome As Your Default Browser

Google Chrome is a popular web browser, preferred by many Roblox users because of its versatility. It’s also one of the only web browsers that have dozens of great browser extensions for Roblox e.g., BTRoblox and Roblox Enhancer.  If Google Chrome isn’t already your Roblox default browser, it might be time to change that.  Here are the steps to do it:

Go to “Settings” on your computer.

Click on “Apps” in the side menu.

Click on “Default Apps” in the App Menu.

On the Default Apps menu, look for Google Chrome and click,

You should now see all the apps, links, and file types that can use Google Chrome as their default browser. Look for the tab that says “Roblox” and click the “Choose default” button below it.

This should set Google Chrome as your default Roblox browser.

3. Update Your Browser

Old browser models typically have bugs and issues that prevent applications and programs from running well. In that case, making sure that your browser is always up-to-date is key.  If you’re using Google Chrome, these are the steps to update your browser:

Click on “Customize and control Google Chrome” on the upper-right side of your browser.

Look for “Help” and hover over the tab. Choose “About Google Chrome” in the pop-up window.

This will open the advanced settings, where you can find the latest version of Google Chrome.

If you’re already on the latest Google Chrome version, no need to do anything. However, if you’re on an older version, an update prompt will be visible.  Simply click on the update option and wait for the process to finish.

4. Re-Install Roblox

Installation errors can also be a reason why the error code 267 is popping up on your screen all of the sudden. To fix this issue, you can uninstall and reinstall Roblox.  To uninstall a program from your PC, simply go to the Control Panel. Under the “Programs” tab, there should be an option that says “Uninstall a Program.”  Click this and you’ll be redirected to a list of programs you have on your computer. Look for “Roblox” and click uninstall.  Wait for the process to complete — it should take a couple of seconds.  Once done, go to the Roblox website or the Microsoft Store to reinstall Roblox.  If the error code still appears after you’ve reinstalled the program, try the next solution.

5. Check Your WiFi Connection

Another way the error code 267 may appear on your screen is this: “Roblox client has been disconnected (Error Code: 267)”  It basically means that you’ve been disconnected from the server and are being asked to leave and rejoin. This disconnection can be due to a faulty internet connection. This is rarely ever the case when you’re using a cable connection. However, if you’re connected to a WiFi network, that’s an entirely different story.  Check your internet connection to see if it’s stable enough to support your games. Sometimes, the Roblox server has a hard time detecting WiFi connections. This is why disconnection notices pop-up on your screen.  If your network connection isn’t the issue, you can try the next solution on this list.

6. Deactivate Ad Blockers

Sometimes ad blockers do their jobs too well that they end up blocking programs that their system doesn’t recognize. Roblox is one of those programs.  Disabling your browser ad blockers should be able to solve this issue, however.  Chrome has a built-in ad blocker, which you can deactivate by doing the following steps:

Open Roblox in Google Chrome. On the upper left side of the search bar, click on the “🔒” icon then click “Site Settings” in the pop-up menu.  This will redirect you to the “Security and Privacy” menu. Scroll down to where it says “Ads.”  On the right-hand corner, change the default setting from “Block” to “Allow.”

If the error code still appears, there’s one last thing you can do to fix it.

7. Open an Alternate Roblox Account

The error code 267 bans users from accessing their servers for up to four (4) weeks. Some users won’t want to wait that long.
